-Nominee for the Lewis Award Scholarship for outstanding incoming freshman at the University of Kentucky.
-Recipient of the Elaine Gould outstanding freshman award in the University of Kentucky percussion studio.
-Participant in the Third World Marimba Competition in Stuttgart, Germany (2002)
-Original composition premiered with the University of Kentucky percussion ensemble at the Percussive Arts Society International Convention in Nashville, Tennessee (2001)
-Accompanist in Florida Dance Festival in Miami, Florida (2003)
-Clinician for the University of Whitewater, Wisconsin week of summer percussion (2002)
-On faculty for “Rhythm Explosion” in Bozeman, Montana (bi-annually).
-Traveled to Matanzas, Cuba to study Afro-Cuban fokloric music with world renowned Los Munequitos de Matanzas.
-In residence teaching in Fortaleza, Brazil with Compania Vata (2005)
-Collaborated and performed in Olinda and Recife, Pernambuco, Brazil with Donna Zefinha for Carnaval (2005)
